At the north corner of New Inn Yard McNaught, a master coach builder, had his show rooms. The front walling having been removed so as to cause the space wherein he kept his handsome coaches to be open to the street. McNaught carried on a most prosperous business, so much so, that the old folk used to say that, “ although his name was McNaught he macks a good deal.” Edward Brown succeeded to him.
