Yard 65 Stramongate

On the south side of Stramongate this yard was between 63 Stramongate and 67 Stramongate (NGR 351783, 492854 Lat/Long 54.328967, -2.742979). It has now been demolished and replaced by modern office buildings.

"Returning to the opposite side of the road, I cannot pass by without a word of comment upon that most choice bit of grouping that can be seen down Yard 65. My illustration gives no adequate interpretation of its charm, for the soft colouring of each shapeless stone, enriched by the golden stain of time and glowing beneath the warmth of a mid-day sun, cannot be depicted by hand drawn-out lines of black.
