Premises: all those plots of land being parcels of an inclosure of land called Smithy Field near Nether Bridge in township of Nethergraveship, Kendal, containing 747 1/2 square yards (numbered 71, 72, 73, 74, and 75 on plan), with all buildings, sewers, drains, and appurtenances.

Consideration: £86 10s. Subscriptions: schedule of deeds, 1872-1876; receipt, 20 November 1880, of (1) for £86 10s from (2), witnessed by C Gardner Thomson, solicitor, Kendal, and W M Woolley, clerk.

2 - Conveyance - 12 Apr 1881

2. George Nelson Ducksbury of Nether Street, Kendal, draper's assistant

Premises: all that plot of land being formerly part of an inclosure called Smithy Field near Nether Bridge in township of Nethergraveship, Kendal, together with dwelling-house recently erected by Richard Henry Brading and known as No. 14 Nether Street, now in occupation of George Nelson Ducksbury, to be held according to conditions stipulated in indenture of covenant of 14 February 1876.

Consideration: £200.

Subscription: schedule of deeds, 1880-1881.

Endorsement: receipt, 12 April 1881, of Richard Henry Brading for £200 from George Nelson Ducksbury, witnessed by William Todd, clerk to John Bolton, solicitor, Kendal.

3 - Mortgage - 13 Apr 1881

Premises: all that plot of land being formerly part of an inclosure called Smithy Field near Nether Bridge in township of Nethergraveship, Kendal, together with dwelling-house recently erected by Richard Henry Brading and known as No. 14 Nether Street.

Consideration: £180.

Subscription: receipt, 11 March 1884, of said building society for all moneys intended to be secured by deed.

Premises: all that plot of land and dwelling house, 14 Nether Street, to the use of (2) in fee simple, subject to said mortgage.

Recitals: William Musgrove, late of Kendal, draper, made will dated 28 November 1887, appointing his wife Ruth and three sons as executors and trustees and bequeathing his estate to them; he died on 15 March 1888; his will proved in Carlisle Registry 21 April 1888; Edward Stramon Musgrove, his son, died on 12 May 1898, and Ruth his wife died on 31 July 1898; (1) put premises up for sale by public auction on 26 October 1898, and (2) purchased same for and on behalf of (3).

Premises: all that messuage, tenement, or dwelling house, with yard, garden and outbuildings, being No.14 Nether Street now in occupation of John James; all that messuage, etc. being No.18 Nether Street now in occupation of Jonathan Oldcorn; all that messuage, etc. being No.13 Nether Street now in occupation of John White; all that messuage, etc. being No. 15 Nether Street now in occupation of I Faulknel, subject to stipulations in indenture of 14 February 1876.
